Flaming Idiots is a full-length comedy by award-winning writer, playwright, screenwriter, director and actor, Tom Rooney.
The story involves Phillis and Carla quitting the post office and sinking all their money, plus a big chunk borrowed from a mobster loan shark, into a restaurant that immediately fails. Desperate, they remember another restaurant got popular when a mobster was shot in it. They decide they can recreate the phenomenon at their place, but rather than really killing someone, the victim will be The Body, a corpse they borrow from an uncle’s mortuary.
SOAP veteran, Diane Gludovatz directs this farce. “We all need an escape from reality (especially now), and this delivers it in spades. Come immerse yourself in Carla and Phillis’ predicaments with impaired chef, money-laundering busboy, bumbling cop and antique hit-man This play will have you laughing out loud at their antics!”
